R E M O D E L

The Harrison family needed a complete makeover of the old bathroom in their beautiful, spacious new home. The old bathroom was boring. It was dark and gloomy, with walls covered in black tile. Harrison wanted us to renovate and liven up the room to go along with all the charming features of their home. They wanted the bath to be a place where they could relax, and one that took advantage of the large dimensions of the room. To make these changes and get the best out of the large, and potentially charming room, we would need to come up with some excellent design ideas and a good layout.

Challenge

Here we had a large room that had been made to look cramped and dark, and that had a good deal of wasted space. The client wanted a new, lighter and more interesting look, while at the same time taking advantage of all the room they had. Because storage space was also important to the family, we wanted to make sure we gave them plenty of cabinets that fit well within the new design and even added a unique quality to the room. With so many changes, we needed to make sure no details were missed when going over the plans with the clients.

Solution

We worked closely with Mr. and Mrs. Harrison and, using our 3D renderings showed them different design and layout options. The clients and our design consultant came up with a terrific plan to get the most out of the space and make the bathroom interesting, functional, and beautiful. Shower and tub were moved together to open the floor area. Different, creative areas for storage were installed. Toilet, sink, counter, and fixtures were upgraded to complete the new, brighter, more open design.

Conclusion

The layout and all the new design features worked beautifully together. The client loved the hidden storage area that doubled as a bench, and how MSC used the contours of the bathroom to create cubby spaces and niches. The soaring design and the pebble tiles helped to create that “wow” factor the Harrison family was looking for. The large tub and spacious walk­in shower added to the comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The client got the bathroom of their dreams and one that matched or even went beyond the beauty of the rest of their home.
