R E M O D E L

Mr. and Mrs. Carey needed to have the outdated bathroom in their Washington DC condo remodeled. Since their home had only one bathroom it was important for us to work quickly and get the job done on time. As an additional factor, the couple had to have their bathroom finished before they left town for Thanksgiving. In a situation where the speed of construction is as critical as it was for the remodeling of Mr. and Mrs. Carey's bathroom, the planning and ordering phases are of prime importance. We consulted with the clients, going over layouts, plans, and materials to make sure we were all on the same page and the remodel could progress smoothly and quickly.

Challenge

Managing time and making sure all materials were available during the busy holiday season was a major challenge during this project. Right before Thanksgiving and the winter holidays is a time when many people decide to fix up their homes for celebrations and out​ of​ town visitors. We had to make sure we got all materials selected, ordered and received before beginning on the bathroom remodel. It was vital for the bathroom to be non​ operational for as little time as possible and proper scheduling and preparation are an important part of this. The other challenge was to stay within budget while transforming an outdated bathroom into one that was modern and thoroughly up​ to​ date in layout and function.

Solution

As part of our process, we provide the client with a complete list of items they will need for their particular project. We also give them the contact information for recommended vendors with whom we have accounts and where we are afforded contractor discounts. This helps make sure all the needed surface materials have been selected and are available before the project has begun. When the wall tile Mr. and Mrs. Carey were planning on ordering online was going to take too long to come in, a representative from one of our preferred vendors helped them find an alternative, which came in on time and they ended up loving. All this was done with no surprises, on schedule and with no hidden costs.

Conclusion

The entire project was completed within budget, with little disruption caused by the remodeling process, and with time to spare. Mr. and Mrs. Carey were overjoyed with their newly updated bathroom and with the quality of service we provided. They left for Thanksgiving on schedule and had a great holiday.
